These terms apply when you use SnaPay, which is operated by Gigx Prime Consult of Accra, Ghana. By using SnaPay you agree to them.

What SnaPay is

SnaPay is an application that lets you receive and send mobile money. You can create a payment code for your shop, ask somebody for a specific amount, send money, send money as a gift, and buy airtime and data.

SnaPay is not a bank and does not hold your money. We are not a licensed financial institution. Payments are carried out through licensed payment providers and the mobile money networks. Your money sits in your own mobile money wallet, not with us.

Your account

  • You must be 18 or over and give accurate information.
  • The mobile money number you register is where your money will be sent. You are responsible for the number you enter. We show you the registered name on that wallet before you confirm it — please read it.
  • Keep your sign-in and your mobile money PIN to yourself. Never give your PIN to anyone, including anyone claiming to be from SnaPay. We will never ask for it.

Charges

Our charges are shown in the app before you confirm anything, so you always see what a payment will cost you before it happens. The charge covers both the mobile money networks and our own service. We may change our charges, and if we do we will tell you in the app before the change applies.

When a payment does not work

Mobile money payments fail for many reasons — a payer does not approve in time, a wallet is full, a network is down. We will tell you what happened and what state your money is in.

Money that never reached the recipient

If money was taken from a payer but never reached the person it was meant for, the payment provider sends it back to the payer. This happens automatically and you do not need to ask.

Money that did reach the recipient

SnaPay does not give refunds. Once money has arrived in somebody's mobile money wallet, it is theirs and SnaPay cannot take it back. We do not hold it and we have no power over their wallet.

If you paid the wrong amount, or you are unhappy with what you paid for, settle it directly with the person you paid. If you ask us, we will give you the record of the payment — the amount, the time, the reference and the registered name on the wallet — to help you do that. This is why SnaPay shows you the registered name before you confirm: please read it. Anyone who tells you SnaPay can reverse a completed payment is mistaken.

Using SnaPay properly

You may not use SnaPay to break the law, to move the proceeds of crime, to collect money for goods or services you do not provide, or to impersonate somebody else. We may suspend or close an account, and freeze a payment code, where we reasonably believe this is happening or where a payment provider requires it.

Availability

We try to keep SnaPay working, but we depend on the mobile money networks and our payment providers. We do not promise the service will be available without interruption.

Our responsibility

We are responsible for operating SnaPay with reasonable care. We are not responsible for losses caused by a mobile money network being unavailable, by you entering the wrong number after being shown the registered name, by you sharing your PIN, or by a dispute between you and somebody you paid or were paid by. Nothing here removes a liability that cannot be removed under Ghanaian law.

Closing your account

You may stop using SnaPay at any time and ask us to close your account. Some records are kept after closure where the law requires it — see the privacy policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana have jurisdiction.
